To celebrate the International Chinese Day, the School of Humanities of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) prepared a series of Chinese cultural experience activities. At the beginning of the event, overseas students sent videos to express their gratitude and blessings to their alma mater,BUPT, and teachers for their study experience.
With the joint efforts of teachers and students, a series of celebration activities were enthusiastically carried out. Prof. Sun Yanyan, Vice Dean of School of Humanities, attended the launching ceremony and delivered a speech.
1.Practice calligraphy,books fragrance full of the room
Calligraphy is the essence of Chinese culture, and the beauty of Chinese characters lies in their form. The students had a strong interest in Chinese calligraphy and were especially eager to have more opportunities to study calligraphy. At the event, students completed their creations under the guidance of their teachers, and students on the line turned in their satisfactory works.
2.Tasting QingTuan, enjoybeauty of spring
April is a beautiful month and Qingming has just passed. Our "International Chinese Day" series of activities specially arranged the "Experience Qingming" session, in addition to in-depth cultural knowledge about the traditional Chinese festival of Qingming, the teachers also prepared the materials and tools for making Qingming dumplings——QingTuan,and made the traditional dessert QingTuan,together with the offline students.QingTuan were round and lovely, sweet and delicious after steaming.
3.practice Tai Chi,keep fit
In order to enrich the content and form of the International Chinese Day, we also organized a Tai Chi experience. Students and teachers joined together to learn taijiquan with professional teachers. The students were very excited to learn the basic moves of Taijiquan and to experience the beauty of Taijiquan's ability to overcome strength with flexibility.
The students who watched the live said they were eager to return to campus soon to learn Chinese and gather with their teachers and classmates. The offline students said that the "International Chinese Day" series of activities werebountiful, diverse and interesting, and they experienced the unique beauty of Chinese culture byjourney in the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
